The first section discusses the title, author, place of writing, symbolism, date, interpretations, theme and purpose of Revelation. The second section on the ROman Empire provides the historical background for the birth and early years of Christianity. The main section of the book offers a complete, passage-by-passage commentary. Although firmly anchored in sound scholarship, it is not heavily footnoted, giving it the broadest possible appeal to serious students of God's Word.

Revelation, an Introduction and Commentary

This book is the best commentary on the Book of Revelation that I have read. The Introduction and Historical background alone are worth the price of this book. The first part of the book discusses among other things, the date this book was written, symbolism, interpretations, theme and purpose of the book. The second part a complete passage by passage commentary. After a thorough reading and studying of the first part, the commentary is easy to understand by the average student. A scholar of the Bible will find this book very useful. Mr Hailey writes in a manner that makes it so easy for the student of the Bible to understand a great part of this book and it's meaning to us today.

Indispensable, definitive!

Homer Hailey's treatise on Revelation is one of my two favorite books on Revelation. It is clear, concise, and to the point.

Excellent, misses the date, but still strong, conservative

As usual, Homer Hailey is ever the teacher. This commentary on The Revelation is concise and well-developed. His intro is worth the price of the book.....but, I am convinced that the value of the book would have been immeasurably increased had Mr. Hailey taken pains to critically examine the claims for a late 1st century date. Had he done so, I am further convinced that, with his consummate skill as an expositor, he would have provided an even better commentary that hinges on the early date. As conservative a development of the 1000-year nonsense as you will ever read!
Definitely a must read.
