Good Introduction to Gann Theory, but don't worth the price

This book serves as a good introduction to the Gann Theory. It explains clearly the basics of Gann Theory: How to use the Swing Charts to identify trends, together with other Gann tools like Gann Angle,Squaring and Anniversaries to determine the likely date/time for Heads or Bottoms (ie. Cycles) and important supports/resistances. With this book, you will be able to grasp the basic framework of Gann Trading. Yet given that the book does not mention the more advanced Gann tools, it only fulfill the introduction/ elementary purpose. So the same price should have bought another book that talks more indepth about the topics. Besides, the book is too repetitive that it seems half of the price is paid to those "copy and paste" pages. I will say, this book deserves five stars if both the price and the pages are cut down by halves.

Excellent source of price, time and pattern examples.

Pattern, Price and Time takes on the difficult subject of Gann Theory and explains it very well. Gann Theory is pretty complex, but this book has simplified it somewhat. The book is full of examples which are very helpful. Many futures traders rely on the computer for many of their decisions, but this book explains how to do the work by hand. I found this very unusual in today's computer age, but I also found it necessary because it forces one to really study the charts. Once the charts were mastered, I found my computer analysis easier. I think I have been able to understand computer analysis more because I now know the basic characteristics of the market which I learned from charting by hand. I strongly recommend this book to those who seek to learn more about the many patterns in the marketplace as well as those interested in the complex study of price and time.

Pattern, Price & Time proved to be a disappointment

Pattern, Price & Time proved to be a bit of a disappointment. I was looking for a book to explain the application of Gann Theory to securities trading, but the book neglected a rather significant part of Gann's work. William Gann's use of significant anniversary dates and special numbers (ie.with some linked to biblical references, others to astronomy) is what distinguishes his work from the miriad of other technical trading authors. Pattern, Price and Time did provide some useful technical trading concepts. In neglecting the more esoteric aspects of Gann's work, however, it was little more than a dry recitation of technical trading rules.
